Yes officially has a new drummer. Jay Schellen, who started filling in for Alan White, who passed away in May of last year, has now taken the gig full-time.
In an interview with Louder Sound, guitarist and longest-serving member, Steve Howe said, “We’re all delighted to welcome Jay officially into the fold. He’s been a great support throughout the last seven years, and we couldn’t have found a better all round team player.”
Schellen, grew up playing along to Yes records and was also great friends with Alan White. He said, “I will strive to honor his memory as we drive towards the future with the band.”
Schellen originally filled in on 2016’s Topographic Drama tour when White underwent back surgery.
