Twisted Sister will reunite for their induction later this month into the Metal Hall of Fame. Blabbermouth reported the sixth annual charity gala is set for January 26th at The Canyon Club in Agoura Hills, California. The classic lineup of the band — Dee Snider, Jay Jay French, Eddie Ojeda, Mark Mendoza, and late-drummer A.J. Pero — will be inducted by Steve Vai and ex-Dream Theater drummer Mike Portnoy. The band’s performance will mark their first live outing since 2016.

Guitarist Eddie Ojeda confirmed the reunion on his Twitter feed, posting: “Looking forward to our induction into the Heavy Metal Hall of Fame on Jan. 26th 2023 in LA.” Dee Snider shared the tweet and added one of his own, which said: “Looking forward to playing together for the first time since 2016. . . especially the rehearsal!”

Dee Snider told us that upon joining Twisted Sister back in 1976, the high life was almost unimaginable: [“I joined in ’76 and we were wearing make-up and carrying the glam metal torch. Nobody was doing it. There was no Motley Crue. There was no other band doing it. We were literally fighting every night for the right to look the way we looked. Yeah ’81, ’82 came along and all of the sudden the flood gates opened and everybody felt, ‘Oh we can put make-up on now.’ It’s like, ‘It’s easy now, after Dee and (bassist) Mark (Mendoza) and the guys have been duking it out for the last eight years.’”] SOUNDCUE (:29 OC: . . . last eight years)
