To celebrate the 40th anniversary of one of the greatest live albums ever recorded, Talking Heads have announced a deluxe reissue of their legendary live record, Stop Making Sense. The 2LP set will be available on a limited-edition crystal clear vinyl and standard black vinyl, with a 2CD/Blu-ray version also available. Both versions feature expansive booklets that include liner notes from all four members of the band, as well as photos of the performance.
Stop Making Sense is the soundtrack for a live concert film of the same name that was directed by Jonathan Demme, which was shot over four nights at the Hollywood Pantages Theatre in Los Angeles in December 1983. The members of Talking Heads will be attending a screening of Stop Making Sense at the King’s Theater in New York City on June 13, with a Q&A hosted by Questlove and a live performance from the Linda Lindas.
