Last night (7-27) Smashing Pumpkins frontman Billy Corgan and clothing designer, Chloe Mendel held an event to benefit the Highland Park Community Foundation. The Illinois town was where dozens of people were injured and seven were killed during this year’s July 4th parade.
Corgan told Billboard, “The only reason we weren’t there was that Chloe was on a plane, and our business was closed.”
The two long-time partners created the Together and Together Again benefit concert that livestreamed last night (7-27) and encouraged viewers worldwide to donate.
The event, which was held at their clothing store, included a variety of special guests that included Pumpkins drummer, Jimmy Chamberlin as well as Perry Farrell of Jane’s Addiction, jazz saxophonist, Frank Catalano, and singer Billy Swan.
The performance is available to view on YouTube and donations are still being accepted.
Corgan has lived in Highland Park for about 20 years and is very involved with the community.
