Rush’s Geddy Lee kicks off his My Effin’ Life In Conversation tour tonight (Monday, November 13th) at the Beacon Theatre in New York. The 14-date tour will promote Lee’s new memoir, “My Effin’ Life,” which comes out Tuesday, November 14th.

Lee will not be performing during the appearances but will instead discuss the book with special guest interviewers, read portions of it and take questions from the audience. Lee tells us that he’s looking forward to doing something that’s very different from a conventional rock concert:

I hope to have an engaging conversation for the first part of the show and then I’m gonna do some reading — a new kind of performance for me. And then I really want to open it up to questions. I want to talk to fans. I want to hear what their questions are. I want to answer their questions. I want to have a connection to them on a more singular level, so I hope that can work out.” :30 OC: that can work out

$1 from each ticket purchased to the shows will go to the Neal Peart Memorial At Lakeside Park fund honoring Rush’s late drummer, who died on January 7th, 2020 at the age of 67 from grain cancer.
“My Effin’ Life” is Lee’s second book, following “Geddy Lee’s Big Beautiful Book of Bass” in 2018.

Lee will accompany “My Effin’ Life” with an audio book that will include two “lost demos” from his 2000 solo album “My Favorite Headache.”

After “My Effin’ Life” Lee is planning other books, including one about one of his other great passions, baseball. He also plans on making some new music, possibly with Rush guitarist Alex Lifeson.

In addition to the tour and book Lee is launching a four-part docuseries “Geddy Lee Asks: Are Bass Players Human Too?,” which premieres December 5th on Paramount Plus and features episodes with Les Claypool of Primus, Nirvana’s Krist Novoselic, Metallica’s Robert Trujillo and Melissa Auf der Maur of Hole and Smashing Pumpkins.
