Coming out Friday, February 9th is “Against the Wind,” he fifth album from Revolution Saints — and the second from the current lineup, which includes Journey’s Deen Castronovo on vocals and drums, Joel Hoekstra of Whitesnake and Trans-Siberian Orchestra on guitar and Foreigner‘s Jeff Pilson on bass. It’s the follow-up to 2023’s “Eagle Flight,” and Castronovo tells us that similarities between the two albums are unavoidable — and intentional:
“I don’t know if they’re really different ’cause it was, it was all in the same writing time. Alessandro was writing with outside writers and with Joel, Joel Hoekstra. Joel had a big part in the writing of both records. They had a vibe, and I feel that even both records being, they’re very similar because it was in the same writing time.” :23
Revolution Saints was conceived by Frontier Records President Serafino Perugino as a vehicle for Castronovo. Alessandro Del Vecchio produced both of the last two albums and wrote most of the songs and also plays keyboards.
“Against the Wind” has been preceded by two singles, the title track and “Changing My Mind.”
Revolution Saints currently has no live dates scheduled. Castronovo is currently touring with Journey, while Pilson will be with Foreigner as its farewell tour resumes March 1st.
