Premiering tonight (July 16th) on Hulu is the Paul McCartney / Rick Rubin docuseries, titled, McCartney 3, 2, 1. The six-part, limited series finds the former-Beatle and famed record producer discussing all aspects of his 60-year-career. McCartney and Rubin serve as two of the project’s executive producers, with the series being directed by Zachary Heinzerling.

In an official statement announcing the program, Hulu Originals and ABC Entertainment’s president Craig Erwich said: “Never before have fans had the opportunity to hear Paul McCartney share, in such expansive, celebratory detail, the experience of creating his life’s work — more than 50 years of culture-defining music. To be an observer as Paul and Rick Rubin deconstruct how some of the biggest hits in music history came to be is truly enlightening.”

Back in 2018, Paul McCartney appeared on CBS’ 60 Minutes and was asked if he and John Lennon complimented each other:(McCartney): Once. (Interviewer): One time. (McCartney): . . . John gave me a compliment. (Interviewer): In how many years? (McCartney): (Laughs) I think it was Revolver. ‘Here, There, And Everywhere’ was one of my songs on it, but John said, ‘That’s a really good song, that. I love that song.’ I was , like, ‘Yes! He likes it!’ Y’know (laughs) — I’ve remembered it to this day. It’s pathetic, really. (Interviewer): Did you ever heap praise on him? (McCartney): Yeah, I would tell him his stuff is great. You’d normally have to be a little bit drunk. (Interviewer): (Laughs) (McCartney): . . . it helped.”
