Flint’s Classic Rock – 103.9 The Fox

Following the public excitement and interest generated by their just announced reunion, Oasis’ celebrated debut album, Definitely Maybe, has made a triumphant return back to the top of the U.K. Official Albums Chart 30 years after its original release back in 1994. Definitely Maybe debuted at No. 1 three decades ago, and returned to top of the chart thanks to the release of its 30th Anniversary Deluxe Edition, which features previously unreleased studio sessions and demo versions. This is the first time in 14 years that Oasis, led by brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher, have topped the U.K. Official Albums Chart.

Back in 2010, their greatest hits compilation, Time Flies… 1994–2009, debuted at No. 1 on the charts, and due to the hype surrounding the Oasis reunion announcement and their immediately sold-out tour dates, the 6x-platinum best-of compilation has rocketed back up the charts to No. 3. In fact, three Oasis albums have entered the Top 5 of the U.K. Official Albums Chart this week, as their beloved 1995 album (What’s The Story) Morning Glory? also reached No. 4. (Billboard)
