Motley Crue bassist Nikki Sixx took to social media explaining why the band will not be allowing fans backstage on the upcoming “Stadium Tour” for “meet & greets.”
Sixx tweeted to fans, “It’s been exhausting trying to explain to people why we can’t have guests backstage. Our fans have waited almost 3 years for this tour. If one of us got Covid and had to cancel the show can you imagine the disappointment? We’re not here to take f***ing selfies. This is for the fans.”
“The Stadium Tour” — featuring the Crue, co-headliners Def Leppard, along with Poison, and Joan Jett & The Blackhearts — kicks off on June 16th at Atlanta’s SunTrust Park. The 25-city trek will wrap on September 9th at Las Vegas’ Allegiant Stadium.
Nikki Sixx told us that Motley Crue always has one goal whenever it goes onstage: “If we’re the greatest we can be, that’s exciting, and that’s what I believe that Mick (Mars) and Tommy (Lee) and Vince (Neil) all want too. They want to be the greatest rock band that Motley Crue can be. That’s why we always try to come up with new, twisted versions of our production, and I think our shows are so potent and, I think, contagious. It’s fun and it’s horrifying all at the same time.”
