In a new interview with The Times, Liam Gallagher’s son, Gene, reveals that his dad secretly wants an Oasis reunion to take place. Gene, whose mother is All Saints singer Nicole Appleton, is the singer/guitarist in the indie rock band Villanelle, who have served as the opening act on Liam’s current run of arena shows in celebration of the 30th anniversary of Oasis’ landmark debut album, Definitely Maybe. Gene was able to share some personal insight into his dad’s feelings about a potential Oasis reunion.

“I get the feeling my dad wants it, too. Let’s hope it happens. It’s easier to speak about after a couple of pints,” the young musician said. “It’s nothing to do with me…I mean, will they? I don’t know. I would love it but it’s so beyond my control.” Gene also joked that he and Noel Gallagher‘s daughter Anaïs have thought about staging an intervention for the brothers, but he thinks that the former bandmates were “too smart for that.” (NME)
