Judas Priest will be heading into the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame this year but frontman Rob Halford isn’t too happy about it. Instead of going in in the performer category, they’re getting the Musical Excellence Award, which has historically gone to session musicians and producers. Halford recently told AZ Central, “I was a bit pissed.”

He explained, “At the end of the day, does it matter? Some days, I go, “No, it doesn’t matter. We’re in the Rock And Roll Hall Of Fame. Be grateful. Shut the hell up. And then there are other days where I’m like, “God damn, why did they give us the Musical Excellence Award?” Because it sounds very, you know, grandiose . . . Why do they put these tags on the damn thing? Why don’t they go, “Welcome. You’re in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame” and leave it at that. It’s as though we got this far. We’re, like, one step away, you know? I know it’s silly, but it’s just frustrating.”

Those being inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in the performer category include Eminem, Dolly Parton, and Pat Benatar.

The 37th Annual Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony will take place on Saturday, November 5th at Microsoft Theater in Los Angeles. The Induction Ceremony will air at a later date on HBO and stream on HBO Max.
