Journey has announced that they’ll be embarking on a 40-show arena tour next year.
According to Ultimate Classic Rock, the shows for the Freedom Tour, which kicks off on February 22nd, 2022 in Pittsburgh, will open with performances from either Billy Idol or Toto.
Journey guitarist Neal Schon said, “It’s that time—time to get back to where we are used to being—on stage! We are looking forward to shifting into high gear and bringing you the best show possible. The band is running on all 12 cylinders and very excited! Please come and join us once again for an evening full of rocking stage connection fun. See you soon, friends.”
Idol added about the tour: “Touring next year with Journey is going to be great fun! An epic night you won’t want to miss.”
Toto guitarist Steve Lukather also said that there will be “a great night of music, and as all the guys are lifelong friends, a blast off stage as well.”
Journey will make stops in Philadelphia, Boston, St. Louis, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Cleveland before wrapping up in Hartford, CT on May 11th, 2022.
