Out now is Joe Walsh‘s new three-track EP, titled Prayers, which pairs the Eagles guitarist with classical Indian Sarod virtuoso composer Amjad Ali Khan. The two originally met while Walsh was visiting India, which led to the pair playing together at the Taj Mahal Hotel in Mumbai. Walsh invited Amjad and his two sons, to come to L.A. last year and record together.

Among the others playing on the Prayers set are Stewart Copeland, longtime Elton John guitarist Davey Johnstone, and Walsh’s friendss and legendary studio vets, Joe Vitale, Nathan East, and Leland Sklar, among others.

Joe Walsh spoke about Prayers in a statement:

The more time I spent with this music the clearer it became that these tracks had healing properties and needed to be shared as a gift.

So, in honor of all the frontline workers who continue to be of such incredible service and courage to us all during these horribly challenging times, I’m donating my proceeds to IntraHealth International, whose vital work for health care workers around the world aligned perfectly. With our gratitude and with love to them all, please enjoy Prayers.
