• But Seriously, Folks… was singer-guitarist Joe Walsh‘s fifth solo album.
• “Life’s Been Good” took a humorous and self-effacing look at rock stardom. Lines like, “I go to parties sometimes until four/It’s hard to leave when you can’t find the door” helped augment, if not cement, Walsh’s image as an affable joker, slightly wasted and amused by the trappings of stardom.
• Helped in large part by the popularity of “Life’s Been Good,” But Seriously, Folks… earned Walsh his first platinum disc.
• One year after the release of But Seriously, Folks…, Walsh announced his bid for the 1980 presidential campaign. He promised free gas for the entire nation.

FAST FORWARD:

• Walsh joined forces with his James Gang bandmates on his Vote For Me tour in 1993.
• He rejoined the Eagles for the group’s Hell Freezes Over reunion tour in 1994.
• Walsh has also been a part of Ringo Starr‘s All-Starr Band.
• Walsh has a couple of minor screen credits to his name. He appears as a prisoner in the closing scenes of The Blues Brothers, and he’s also made several guest appearances on the TV series The Drew Carey Show.
