Following Bruce Dickinson’s concert in Zagreb, Croatia, on Saturday night, the current Iron Maiden frontman met the metal band’s former singer, Paul Di’Anno, for the very first time. Dickinson was there playing with his solo band while on tour for his new album, The Mandrake Project. While Di’Anno’s was coincidentally also in Zagreb for a promotional event for his new band, Paul Di’Anno’s Warhorse.
“When we thought that nothing could surprise us anymore in the heavy metal world, tonight’s ‘miracle’ in Zagreb proved us all wrong,” wrote Di’Anno’s manager, Stjepan Jurasvia, in a press release. “Paul Di’Anno and Bruce Dickinson met for the first time and had a friendly chat right in Zagreb. This is an exceptional night for the entire Iron Maiden community and for metal fans around the world, because it shows that Iron Maiden and everyone who was in that band, is one big family.” Di’Anno sang on the band’s first two albums, Iron Maiden and Killers, before Dickinson replaced him in 1981.
