and other compilations - “Hot Blooded” has become one of Foreigner‘s signature rockers, peaking at Number Three on the Billboard Hot 100 and selling more than a million copies as a single.
- The song hit Number 42 on the U.K. pop chart.
- The Double Vision album was anything but a sophomore slump, selling more than five million copies and peaking at Number Three on the Billboard 200.
- Double Vision was the last album recorded by the original Foreigner lineup. After touring to support it, bassist Ed Gagliardi was replaced by Rick Wills, who had previously worked with Roxy Music, the Small Faces, and Peter Frampton.
FAST FORWARD:
- In addition to his Foreigner work, guitarist Mick Jones has co-produced Van Halen‘s 5150 and Billy Joel‘s Storm Front, among other projects.
- Frontman Lou Gramm — who left the band in 1990 and rejoined two years later — overcame a battle with brain cancer to return to the road in 1998.
- Gramm and Jones have been estranged for the past few years, and this time it seems like it might be permanent. Jones has put together a new lineup that includes Kelly Hansen on vocals and Jason Bonham on drums.
- The band is currently working on a new album, featuring some new versions of older songs.
