The Foos are back! Audience footage has emerged from Foo Fighters‘ Tuesday night (June 15th) gig at L.A.’s Canyon Club, the 610-person captaincy venue in Agoura Hills. The show — like their upcoming June 20th Madison Square Garden concert — was a vaccinated-only gig, with tickets going for $26 in celebration of the group’s 26th anniversary tour.
Rolling Stone reported, “A fan-shot video from the show finds (drummer Taylor) Hawkins swapping places with frontman Dave Grohl, who takes a seat behind the drums while Hawkins introduces the cover. Hawkins noted that, after initially suggesting the Foo Fighters cover Queen, most of the band thought there was no way they could do it — except Grohl who figured, ‘Maybe we can.’”
With that, the band launched into a note-perfect rendition of Queen’s 1976 A Day At The Races show-stopper, “Somebody To Love.”
Approximately 30 “anti-vaxxers” protested the band’s decision to only allow fully vaccinated fans inside the show. Among the small throng of people was actor Ricky Schroder, who posted on social media: “Dave Grohl is an ignorant punk who needs slapped (sic )for supporting Discrimination. Ignorance comes in all shapes & sizes. Kurt Cobain is laughing at you Dave along with Millions of Patriots. . . . Fool.”
