The Foo Fighters have offended a group of their fans who don’t believe in taking the Covid vaccine. The band is playing a full capacity, mask-free concert at New York CIty’s Madison Square Garden on June 20th and they are requiring all attendees to show proof of having received two doses of the vaccine. Some who opt not to be vaccinated are saying they are no longer Foo Fighters fans.
One fan tweeted, “Foo Fighters, a band I’ve long admired, just held a concert for the jabbed only. That’s every album & playlist with them on, consigned to the bin.”
Another wrote, “Never thought the Foo Fighters would support suppression, segregation, and discrimination.”
Of course, there are fans on the opposing side who have tweeted such comments as, “A big thumbs up to my favorite band for doing this,” and “I genuinely don’t see a problem with this, and double bonus points for pissing off the anti-vax morons.”
The NYC date is the Foo Fighters’ first in a string of tour dates that run through next summer.
