To mark what would have been Bon Scott’s 78th birthday, the Estate of the AC/DC singer has a series of events planned. On Scott’s actual birthday of July 9, there is a tribute concert planned at the celebrated rock haven of Arlene’s Grocery on New York City’s Lower East Side. The show will be a nod to the historic secret set that AC/DC performed at CBGB way back in 1977. At the Arlene’s Grocery show, 16 different singers will each tackle one classic AC/DC song while accompanied by a terrific backing band. Also that day, radio station DJs across the country and on satellite will all wish Bon Scott a happy birthday, and play their favorite AC/DC songs to honor Scott. There will also be clothing items created using two newly created and registered Bon Scott tartans – Heritage and Touring – which will celebrate the singer’s proud Scottish roots. (Blabbermouth)
