Following a 1966 motorcycle accident, Bob Dylan temporarily retired from touring. His legendary 1974 tour with his friends in The Band – featuring 40 shows over 30 days in 21 cities – marked the long-awaited return to the road for the music icon. And now, to celebrate the 50th anniversary of that historic tour, Dylan is releasing a 27-disc box set featuring live performances from those celebrated shows. Bob Dylan – The 1974 Live Recordings is set to be released on September 20 by Columbia Records and Legacy Recordings.

The enormous set includes 431 tracks, with 417 of those being previously unreleased live performances. To celebrate the announcement of the collection, Dylan shared a never-released version of “Forever Young” that was recorded in Seattle on February 9, 1974.  The set will feature 133 recordings that are newly mixed from 16-track tape and all existing soundboard recordings from the tour, with new liner notes by Elizabeth Nelson.
