• “Marrakesh Express” was the first single released by Crosby, Stills & Nash, the supergroup comprising David Crosby (ex-Byrds), Stephen Stills (ex-Buffalo Springfield), and Graham Nash (ex-Hollies).
• The song peaked at Number 28 on the Billboard Hot 100.
• Nash based the song on a trip he and his first wife Rose took from Casablanca to Marrakesh in 1966: “I came back and played it for the Hollies, who rejected it… After a couple of months of that, a man is liable to go insane, especially being the only one (in the band) who was smoking grass at the time.”
• The Crosby, Stills & Nash album peaked at Number Six on the Billboard 200 chart.

• Neil Young, Stills’s former partner in Buffalo Springfield, joined the trio in the spring of 1969.
• Crosby, Stills & Nash — with and without Young — have recorded and toured off-and-on since their inception.
• The trio has the distinction of being one of a handful of acts to perform at two Woodstock festivals, in 1969 (with Young) and in 1994.
• Crosby has survived debilitating drug addictions that resulted in a short imprisonment in 1986. He underwent a liver transplant in 1994.
