Just off of their first #1 in 15 years, Daughtry just released “Pieces,” a song that Chris Daughtry wrote shortly after the passing of both his daughter and mother.

Through a press release, he said: “At some point in our lives, we will all experience trauma of some kind. Something that chips away at the essence of who we are. “Sometimes, it’s an event so devastating that it shatters our reality and rips a hole through our soul.” He went on to say that “Pieces,” is about finding the strength to move on.

Daughtry just kicked off a tour with Breaking Benjamin.
