Sammy Hagar recently announced his upcoming Best of All Worlds Tour, featuring bassist Michael Anthony, drummer Jason Bonham, and guitarist Joe Satriani. He then went on The Howard Stern Show and said that he’s inviting musicians in every town to join them on stage, and that included David Lee Roth.
Given the duo’s tumultuous past and public digs towards each other, Hagar was asked in another interview if Roth would be welcome to join the full tour.
He said, “He’s not invited on the tour. No F-ing way. I know better than to have him on the tour again. Been there, done that. He ain’t coming out with me again. Maybe one show, a song or two, if he remembers the words to a third.”
In a statement posted later by Van Halen News Desk, Roth was quoted as saying “I’m ready to go. Let’s do this.”
The 28-date tour will focus largely on Van Halen music, including deep cuts that haven’t been heard live in years.
